Our mission is simple and ancient: to help people seek God and make disciples in their local communities. Over these 21 days, we will engage in a rhythm of contemplative prayer (internal formation) and contending prayer (external intercession and mission). Each day offers Scripture, a short reflection, a prayer practice, and a quote from early church fathers, pastors, or revivalists.
One of the keys to seeking God is to combine prayer with fasting. Fasting is the denial of physical needs (primarily food) for a set amount of time to heighten dependence on God. Limiting screen time or simply skipping meals may be a good discipline or detox, but they are NOT examples of biblical fasting. Fasting in scripture is not presented as a suggestion, but as an expectation of God’s people.

Throughout revival history, it becomes clear that when God moves in power over a city, He rarely confines that movement to one church alone. When the Spirit is poured out, it is poured out over a region—an informal network of churches hungry for His presence.
On this special night of contending prayer, we will gather to call on God to move once again in Knoxville. Our aim is to begin building a regional altar—a shared space of faith, unity, and intercession—where churches across our city cry out together for a fresh move of God.
While Local Church Knoxville is stepping out to initiate this gathering, our desire is not to build something for ourselves, but to build something with the broader body of Christ in Knoxville.

Join us on Tuesday evenings at 7:00PM or Thursday morning at 7:00AM at Village Church for our Prayer Room. During our time, we host a 60-minute prayer set of music, corporate prayer, and scripture reading. Whether you can stop in for ten minutes or a full hour, we welcome you to come and join us. Childcare is not provided, but we encourage families to attend together.
